Keep Discrimination Out of Washington! #NoOn1552
About This Campaign
Washington's long-standing laws protecting LGBT people from discrimination have ensured fair and equal treatment for everyone while protecting public safety. But I-1552 singles out our transgender neighbors, family and friends for discrimination and does not improve public safety. It overrides state & local protections in certain public-accommodation facilities, requires public schools to restrict access to some facilities and allows related lawsuits against schools.
Why Does It Matter?
If I-1552 were to pass, it would be the first anti-transgender law in the country passed on a statewide ballot, putting Washington at the vanguard of this toxic debate and giving momentum for similar laws and ballot measures in states across the nation. Discrimination is bad for schools, business and society.
