Last month, on June 15th the Supreme Court
issued its opinion on three cases and ruled LGBTQ+ employment discrimination illegal under federal law. Immediately following the decision of the Court, NEAT co-lead a coalition of 116 partners to host a Virtual Town Hall & Rally to discuss the decision, its historical implications, and what our next steps are on the road to equality.  Watch the Virtual Rally below.

The Virtual Rally was a huge success with over 25,000 viewers and 8 additional Facebook Watch Parties. At the Virtual Town Hall, almost 2,200 attendees tuned in. Overall, the #DecisionDay site saw over 12,500 views during the project. “Thank you, speakers, you inspire,” said Jennifer Santo, a Facebook Live viewer. This victory couldn't be possible without the dedication of NEAT volunteers, and our partnering organizations.

Both events were fun and educational and were a powerful moment of togetherness and celebration for the LGBTQ+ community. “I’m so proud we created a space for over 25,000 people to come together, celebrate, see themselves on screen, and recommit to the work still ahead!”, said Brian Silva, Founder and Executive Director of NEAT. Even with viewers scattered around the world, huddling over screens the feeling of community was still there.
