NEAT and the Los Angeles LGBT Center recently partnered to provide the Center's volunteer mobilization team "Resistance Squad" the ability to make calls to urge Congress to finally pass the Equality Act. The volunteers are initially participating in three Sunday phone banks in February and March — all done remotely from home – targeting Senators seen as key to the Equality Act's passage.
NEAT was able to provide its turnkey Virtual Phone Bank system and training for Center staff to easily use with their volunteers. In addition, NEAT staff attend each event to assist in the training and support Center staff during the event. And because the event is open to all, it provides additional opportunities for other volunteers who prefer to call in a group. Check out the full story published in the Center's "LGBT News Now."
